WOW SURIGAO! CAPTIVATING THE ENCHANTED RIVER OF HINATUAN

After the amazement brought by the Britania Islets, we took another single motor ride from La Entrada Resort to the Enchanted River of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. The road is a sacrifice for the travelers. It was a 12 km bumpy ride going to the mountain top. According to the driver, the local government has plans for road concreting but it may take a year. That must be a good plan since there are a lot of tourists coming in and out of the place everyday.

Despite of the stressful experience going to the river, Surigao never ceased to surprise us. When we arrived at the Enchanted River, here's what left us open mouthed....

There were stories that there are two ladies with long hair and a color green man walking through the surface of the water and mysteriously disappear in the air. Whether it is true or not, one thing that I am very certain, that the Enchanted River is worthy to be visited.

At 12 noon, we have seen the fishes fed in the river. It was like magic, the fishes in all colors in their unique appearances appeared visibly in the water.

We decided to spend our night at the place. We sailed through the river going to the cottage which is at the center of the sea in Hinatuan.

The rooms were not that big, they are not concrete but the place is truly relaxing. What I really liked at the cottage is the CATCH YOUR ORDER. The fishes are not ready at their chef's kitchen. We had to do fishing - to catch the talakitok from their cage. That was really exciting.

ENCHANTING BRITANIA ISLETS, SURIGAO DEL SUR; A SUMMER TO REMEMBER

For ten months of tiring day to day work at school, I've been dreaming of going to a vacation somewhere in Visayas or even in Luzon. I thought of  going back to Boracay or Puerto Princesa or spend a whole week in Zambales or Baguio. But plots changed due to some unexpected events.

April 17, 2013, I ended packing my stuffs for a long road trip going to Surigao del Sur with my cousin and her two friends who were all excited for the itinerary I set. Since there were only four of us, we decided to have a bus ride instead of renting a van.

We left GenSan at 9pm then reached Davao City Bus Terminal at 12mn. Unfortunately, we haven't caught the bus with the Davao-Tandag route which will pass by in our dropping point - Salvacion (La Entrada Resort). So we took the alternative, Davao - San Franz (6 hours travel/ P275) then San Franz to Salvacion (1 hour van travel/ P75), then a single motor ride from Salvacion Highway to La Entrada resort for P40. Whoah! We reached there at 10am. I chose to drop at La Entrada because of good reviews I read from travelers who had stayed in the resort. We planned to stay overnight, but when we reached the place, we thought of staying in another resort. So we decided to just place our order for our lunch and pay for the boat ride going to the Britania Islets (P1000).

And here we go, when we reach the four islands, the breathtaking place made us forget that we were very tired and sleepy.

BRITANIA ISLETS, SURIGAO DEL SUR
Truly, Philippines is blessed by the wonders of nature. I'll surely come back in this paradise.
